Life lessons bursting crackers on a Deepavali evening

Lesson 1: We all know fireworks are spectacular fun but it can also be dangerous. So be respectful of the fire.

Lesson 2: Just because it can be dangerous does not mean that we just avoid it all together. You miss the experience and the opportunity.

Lesson 3: Life is like a cracker. Bright and loud. If you are cautious and responsible and evaluate all the risks, you can succeed at it and have a good time doing so too.

Lesson 4: Crackers emit smoke that scare away mosquitoes causing dengue etc. Make sure your home doors are closed before you start lighting up. Else your home becomes their colony. Can't think of any life lesson here except for 'Just keep the darn mosquitoes out of your home'.

Lesson 5: Understand the unpredictability.
Every cracker is different. One may go off as planned. Other may explode in your face. Exactly like life.
Be prepared with high levels of awareness and alertness. Train your instincts to detect an errant cracker, person or situation.

Lesson 6: Just because the cracker did not explode on time, it does not mean that the fire is out. It might just be taking a breather and may explode any time later. Be careful when you approach it. Likewise in life, a problem or situation might seem to have solved itself, but make sure that it has indeed been resolved to avoid surprises later.

Lesson 7: Acknowledge and respect your ancestors / predecessors who survived horrors of invasions, countless wars, innumerable attacks on the culture, way of life and sometimes even backstabbing by their own people and yet managed to keep traditions going for for us to experience. Keep the tradition alive. Pass it on to your next generation.
Same with work culture that you enjoy at your work place. Sustain and retain what worked to keep the spirit high and the mood happy. Fight to keep the empathy alive.

Shubh Deepavali!!
